Water crisis at Jharsuguda
The residents of ward 3 of Brajrajnagar Municipality are suffering from water crisis. The area of Abhaypur in Jharsuguda is considered to be one of the most dry pockets of Brajrajnagar.
Due to the presence of three mines, groundwater level has recedes to the extent that even deep bore-wells are not working.
The municipality has two 500 feet deep bore well which are inadequate to meet the water requirements of the area. According to the official, the municipality is trying to supply water with the help of water tankers. The respecting department is supplying water as per the guidance of the municipality.
The open well is the last resort for the water-starved people who tussle from midnight to collect water.
