Water left for only 124 days: BMC

Mumbai could face serious water crisis as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed the city that its stock of water will last for only 124 days. At present, there is 10 per cent water cut in the city.The current usable water content available is only 62 per cent of what was available last year.
This worrying trend has prompted the BMC to take some preventive measures for an impending crisis of water shortage.
To remove water scarcity, the council is looking for other possibilities like cloud seeding said, Mohan Adtani, additional municipal commissioner.
In anticipation, the BMC’s standing committee has instructed the civic body to clean up wells and provide more water tankers around the city.
