Water pollution threating on high alert
The delay in National River Conversational Plan (NRCP) has increased the pollution level in Yamuna river, Haryana.
According to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), the failure of STP’s in Faridabad has resulted in increase of pollution level in Yamuna river.
The industrial wastes from Panipat and Faridabad said to be polluting the river in majority.
Faridabad is collecting 200 million liters daily (MLD) sewage for a day, however the the town has the capacity treat only 115 MLD and the remaining is left to Yamuna river.
Same is the scenario in Panipat also. The government in collaboration with pollution control board have plans of finding an alternative solution to save the river which has been a savior to residents.
