Comments(2) Sub Category:Community,Municipality Posted On: Mar 12, 2012

Bangalore will soon has to face water scarcity! The only remedy is to reduce or cut down on population growth and infrastructure development in Bangalore city.

The Infrastructure Panel of Confederation of Indian Industry, Karnataka State Council experts say that water availability will see a sharp dip by 70 litres a day per person.

In different parts of the city like; Electronic City, RT Nagar, Sarjapur and many such areas have live examples of water scarcity.

In Electronic City, wherein there are more than 150 and odd IT companies due to water shortage have strictly asked their employees to cut down on water consumption.

Meanwhile, the Electronic City Industries’ Association (ELCIA) is spending around Rs 1 crore for Cauvery water supply to BWSSB.

Whereas in areas like; RT Nagar water is supplied once in two days leaving residents to depend upon private tankers. Condition at Sarjapur is no wonder good!

The residents here completely depend upon water tankers. Looking forward this summer season is sure to get worse with less water supply in the city.

I am not a resident of bangalore however after reading several articles on water scarcity not only in bangalore but also other parts of India … one thing is common water tanker… from where these water tankers are getting water? who are these guys selling water ? do they have neccessary approvals to do so? or just this also a water scam.. not releasing the water for 4 days in a week thus forcing the residents to buy water …
