Water Shortage in Delhi because of frequent Power-cuts

No Comments Sub Category:Community,Municipality Posted On: Oct 17, 2011

Residents in Delhi are reeling under acute water shortage. The shortage is mainly because of the inability of the Delhi Jal Board to treat water. Officials in the Jal Board had blamed the frequent power-cuts to be the main reason as to why the water treatment work could not be carried out in time. Earlier the Jal Board had taken the initiative to modernize the water treatment plants so as to minimize the wastage of water.

The project was planned to be carried out along with a Japanese company. The main areas that were hit by this shortage were North and West Delhi. It has been noted that Delhi has witnessed severe power cuts in the recent weeks because of shortage of power supply in many central power stations.
