No Comments Sub Category:Realty News Posted On: Jul 11, 2014

Wipro and Tech Mahindra are apparently keen on making investments in Andhra Pradesh. The interest of the two companies in investing the State has become evident from the fact that they have approached the State Government to seek land for setting up facilities which will create employment opportunities for 12,500 people.

With regard to the proposals put forth by the two companies for facilities to be set up in Andhra Pradesh, Wipro has proposed to set up a Special Economic Zone which will provide 7,500 jobs; while Tech Mahindra has proposed a facility that will generate 5,000 jobs.

The proposals of the two companies have been examined by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who has given in-principle approval for giving Tech Mahindra a 10-acrea land area at Visakhapatnam.

Meanwhile, so far as the IT policy of the State is concerned, a proposal has been tabled for setting up a Special Mission. The proposal, which will primarily focus on e-governance and capacity building, will entail budgetary support of Rs 2,500-crore over a five-year period.

With Visakhapatnam to be promoted as the IT hub by the new Government, IT Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy recently told reporters that the city will not only be the IT Investment Region, but will also boast a Mega IT Hub expanding over an area of 3,000 acres.
