125 new cabins for Gurgaon lawyers
The district bar association of Gurgaon has proposed to finance the construction of 125 portable cabins as its facing shortage of over 800 lawyers’ chambers.
The cabins will be built on the second floor of blocks A and B after the high court building committee’s approval.
Satbir Singh Tanwar, association president said each cabin will cost around Rs 60,000.
There are only 700 chambers to 1,500 practicing lawyers and the association has sought application from those advocates who lacks personal chambers.
Apart from the 700 existing chambers there are three open halls in the judicial complex that hundreds of lawyers use as sitting areas.
Though the plan has already been approved by the building committee, the building will take a few years to come up.
