159 property tax defaulters held in Kochi
Kochi Corporation has till now estimated Rs. 5 crores yet to be collected from the tax defaulters.
It has been traced that majority of the property owners are avoiding the property tax payment.
Therefore, the Revenue Officer of corporation arranged a council meeting to discuss tax evasion details.
According to corporation officials, around 159 property evasion cases has been traced in the city.
Also responding to the due notices, it has been seen that few of the property owners have paid sum of Rs. 50 lakhs and majority of them have shown hardly any response.
