In its petition the L-G office cited that ownership of the Yamuna flood plain has been a controversial issue, as a matter of fact, the rights to the flood plain along both sides of the 23-km stretch of the Yamuna that flows through Delhi actually lies alongĀ  Delhi and not with that of Uttar Pradesh.

Noida Authority had planned to build a dike on the left side of the Yamuna river. It will stretch from National Highway-24 to the Chilla Regulator. The proposal was passedĀ  in August 2008 and was sent to the Yamuna Standing Committee in 2009. The project is Rs 92.10 crore project as a flood control measure.
