Additional floor space index for Chennai to promote affordable housing
The government of Tamil Nadu announced revised floor space index (FSI) plan for the affordable housing project.
The government also declared that the builders need not to pay any additional charge for construction of apartments with higher FSI.
The state finance minister also announced more interest waiver on housing loans disbursed by cooperative housing societies.
The state government of Tamil Nadu also announced 50% increment in infrastructure and amenities charges for all newly constructed apartments in the state.
This will increase the cost of properties in a range of Rs.25 to Rs.50 per square feet in the state.

Good work, it will be useful for all construction purposes in future.
This amendment will bring about reduction of larger land space and improve the quality of life with increase in FSI. The waiver of charges will be passed on to the dwellers by a reduction in the sq. feet construction costs. Commutation will reduce and maintenance will be easier. If corruption can be ruled out then this is a very good measure to the buyers of flats.
