Affordable Housing in Satellite Township Plan near Chennai

A new housing infrastructure is soon to be completed in Chennai. There is likely more number of housing projects yet to come into floors near Chennai City to meet the segments of the society. Ms. Jayalalitha, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu announced that Rs, 2,160 crore has been declared as a fund for the upcoming satellite township for affordable housing that would be coming up in near future at Tirumazhisai, this is located towards the west of Chennai and on the Highway that leads to Bangalore City.

This township plan is estimated to acquire nearly 12.85 acres of land and the state government has taken over the initiative in consultation with the land owners. This township plan is likely to be spread over an area covering few villages in and around. The plan has been estimated to erect nearly 12,000 odd apartments provided with all basic social and welfare amenities in the apartments. This township project is looking forward to provide affordable houses for the economically lower sections and middle income groups.

Also other similar plans are likely to be started simultaneously with this township project. A 100 crore rupees residential project in Chennai near Ashoka Pillar will acquire nearly 3.73 acres of land facilitated with over 554 residential units has been planned well in a multi storied structures. Also the other commercial complexes to come over in a city with an estimation of 4.66 lakh square feet along with a 33 crore providing nearly 120 residential apartment project of about 1.44 lakh square feet. Rs 100 crore project will also be stated at Nandanam, place belonging to the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board, Chennai. This project will ensure 17 floor green building and the rented income will be used for the maintenance of the board’s tenements.

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu state announced that the government has decided to increase an allocation of 3 percent for the housing board projects in Chennai for the differently-able people on the occasion of its Golden Jubilee Year.
