Agitation against power tariff hike in Delhi
The proposed hike in the power tariff has drawn severe criticisms from various circles in Delhi. Prominent BJP leader Vijay Goel is the forerunner in protesting against the hike. He has said that the hike is intolerable. He is also asking the support of the Resident Welfare Associations (RWA), Non Government Organisations (NGO) to come out and join him in the agitation. He has said that though the government is actively increasing the prices however it isn’t doing anything towards other power problems like load-shedding. He also alleged that the private companies are leaving no stone unturned to fleece the common man.
To discuss about the proposed agitation there has been a meeting called on November 27. Representatives of more than 2000 RWA’s and volunteers of other organisations have already given their consent to the agitation which is coined as the ‘Bijli Andolan.’
