Amrapali says cheques for Rs 75 cr given to Indian Cricket captian were to build hospital

The real estate firm Amrapali says that the cheques for Rs 75 crore given to Indian cricket team captain M S Dhoni were for developing a hospital in Ranchi. The firm informed that they were returned to them as the project did not take off. These remarks come from the developer when the cheques given by the company to Dhoni are under the I-T scanner.

Mr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Amrapali group CMD, says that they have given cheques to Dhoni for the development of hospital in Ranchi. But the project is not started and the cheques have been returned back.

A media report informed that the cheques issued in year 2011-2012, were to be encashed in 2014.

He also added that he could not remember the exact date when cheques are returned.
