Another deadline for Metro Phase-I completion is 2015
Mr. P S Kharola, BMRCL Managing Director, says that Metro phase 1 deadlines have not shared good relation in the past but the dead line of this project is extended by 2015. He also added that the metro phase 1 which is 42.3 Km long will be completely operational by 2015 and BMRCL is expecting daily riders up to 10 lakh on this phase by 2017.
He further added that the phase 2 will not take as much yime as phase 1 take. They are looking to finish the extensions in next 3 years and the 2 new lines in next 5 years. While the complete project will take time of 5 years to complete.He also says that the geo-technical survey has been completed on the Gottigere-Nagawara stretch of Phase-II.
He added that this phase is the most expensive metro lines as it will passes through the heart of the city and this phase is totally under ground.
A BMRC official says that all the safety precautions are taken while tunnelling the under ground section. The Settlement markers and tilt meters have been fixed to the nearest buildings along the underground alignment to observe any settlement and tilts. With the help of onstruments 24*7 monitoring will be done for any movements.
Mr. S K Lohia, one of the directors on the BMRC board, says that the phase 3 connects the areas on the ring road and connect the outlying areas of the city as well as the central business districts or commercial hubs or prime work places.
