Automatic traffic management systems in Chandigarh
Chandigarh traffic police has announced that they will overhaul the manual traffic management system into automatic system in Chandigarh. These system will be initiated in a trial basis. If the feedbacks are positive than the traffic department will think about the initiation of the programme permanently in the long run. The move have come in he wake of the traffic woes faced by commuters and traffic cops as well.
Traffic police personnel, in a manual system, have to tailor the period for the traffic flow depending on the number of vehicles. The areas where the system will be changed are Sector 17, press lights point, railways lights point, Housing Board lights point, and transport lights point. The present system in these areas will be for a trial period. These areas witness a huge amount of traffic during the rush hours.
