Bangalore city police recovered property worth Rs. 1.16 crore
Policemen attached to the South-East Division of the Bangalore city police have cracked 113 cases of theft, robbery, dacoity and cheating over the past fortnight and recovered property worth Rs. 1.16 crore from 40 persons.The recovered property consists of 11 four-wheelers, 72 two-wheelers, one goods carrier, Rs. 1.47 lakh in cash, seven cows, a diamond ring, laptops, DVD players, computers, some gold ornaments and electronic items. The recovered properties were displayed on the premises of the Koramangala police station here Monday.
Officials of Madivala, Mico Layout, Koramangala, Hulimavu, HSR Layout, Tilak Nagar, Airport, Parappana Agrahara, Whitefield and Varthur police stations have achieved this after conducting a series of raids in their jurisdiction in the last 15 days.
After a formal function, Police Commissioner Shankar M. Bidari, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East Division) B.N.S. Reddy and other officials praised their staff for cracking the cases and the returned valuables to at least 30 claimants.
Mr. Bidari, again, said that the Police Department will not tolerate any person raising his/her hands against the city police personnel or verbally abusing them while they discharged duties. Three men allegedly attacked a sub-inspector of police near Ramamurthy Nagar on Sunday night. In view of that incident, Mr. Bidari said: “Such incidents will not be tolerated.”
