BBMP to redevelop slums with builders’ association
After having received complaints regarding undue delays in getting khata, plan sanction, violation of zoning regulations and bureaucracy in the BBMP from the builders, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)has offered builders under CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association- Karnataka), to work with the municipal agency towards a “slum-free city”.
The invitation is laid out for redeveloping slums most of which are in prime locations of the city. CREDAI chairperson Nagaraj R. recommended that the BBMP enter into a joint endeavor and take up redevelopment of a slum on a pilot basis to create a model which can be emulated in future.
The BBMP is hopeful of a successful venture and has been declared that the Revenue Department and BBMP would be linked and all changes would be updated online immediately.
