BDA to build towers at entry points of Bangalore
Bangalore- The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is soon planning to build towers on important entry points within the authority limits on the boundary of the city.
Founder of Bangalore city, Kempegowda had constructed four such towers which marks the boundary of the city. If everything goes according to the plan, people entering Bangalore city will be welcomed by splendid towers.
Five main entry points are earmarked by BDA for this project. It includes Airport Road (NH 7) at Hunsemaranahalli (20 km from the centre), Tumkur Road (NH 4) at Makali (21 km from the city centre), Hosur Road (NH 7) at Bommasandra (20 km from the centre), Mysore Road (State Highway 17) at Sheshgirihalli (26 km from city centre ) and Old Madras Road (NH 4) near Hoskote Lake (22 km from the city centre).
The concept report has been prepared by BDA through chosen consultant. It says that all five points will have entirely different theme which will reflect the participation of both Karnataka and Bangalore to the nation.
Stating example of Tumkur road, it will have History theme, Hosur road will have industrial and IT theme, Science and technology, education, research, aviation and aerospace on Airport Road, cultural heritage and tourism will be the theme for Mysore Road and gardens, lakes, horticulture and floriculture on Old Madras Road.
BDA is also planning to involve Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) in this project by handing them the entire project. Currently work has not initiated because price of the project is yet not quoted by the consultant.
