Bellandur lake on stake!
Bellandur lake is the largest lake in the Bangalore city and is spread across 900 acres.
A total of Rs 1.91 crore has been spent on restoration of the lake in the city.
However, the lake is very far from what it looks restored.
According to a Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, restoration work has been stopped mid way and out of total Rs 5.54 crore, Rs 1.91 crore has been used.
The Lake Development Authority (LDA) which took the control in January 2004 was supposed to finish the work by August 2004. But it could not take the responsibility of diverting the sewage flow way from the lake.
Now, Bangalore Development Authority has asked for a detailed report for the same.
