
Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) recently filed an First Information Report (FIR) against nearly 15 people for encouraging the illegal erection of stalls. FIR has been filed under “Maharashtra Region Town Planning Act” at the Chembur police station limits. The civic officials were reported saying, the shops will be sent a court stay order with a grace time to convert their illegal shops to permanent once following the legal process.
They also said that the
construction work should only happen during the weekends and should be completed within the time of case closure. This plan according to the officials would pave way for the work to be done at the earliest. Ten
illegal stalls at Ghatkopar-Mahul Road in Chembur were called off for demolition as per the orders passed on by
BMC. The illegal shop owners are sure to bear the burnt of
demolition drive in
Mumbai city.
