BMTC buses to have CCTV cameras
The BMTC has decided to have two remote CCTV cameras in all the buses for the security of women and to assure them a safe travel. This will also help to keep an eye on troublemakers.
First 1,000 Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation buses will be installed with the cameras and the rest 5,500 buses will be covered later. The cameras will help the authorities monitor the crew.
Two cameras will be installed in each bus one in the front and one at the back. The project will start with 1,000 buses, including volvos and the new Bharat Stage 4-compliant buses. The project will be taken forward in a phased manner and install CCTV cameras in all our 6,500 buses. The cameras will have 48-hour backup facility as said by BMTC managing director Anjum Parvez.
BMTC will pioneer the use of common mobility card
