Metro feeder bus service may not be available anymore in Bangalore
The Metro feeder bus service in Bangalore may soon be phased out. The move is likely to b e taken by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC). The BMTC had deployed a fleet of buses to cater to the demands of commuter before the launch of Metro. However with the metro being in service from now on there is a scarcity of passengers. Even during the the rush hours it is seen that there are hardly any commuters in the buses.
Authorities have said that they dont mind if there are ten to fifteen passengers. However it will surely not ply if only two or three passengers use the transport service. Another reason for the lesser use of the transport service is due to the fact that the area in Byappanahalli is not a work centre. The corporation may re-introduce the feeder services once Phase 1 works are completed.
