Buyers fork out lakhs on illegal property
Property buyers in Mumbai city are shelling out lakhs of rupees for the properties which do not hold proper documentations.
Around 50 residential buildings in the city worth Rs. 750 crore owned by Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra (CIDCO) have been raised illegally.
According to “Right to Information (RTI) act”, it is a fact that the buyers are shelling out lakhs to own these plots which do not exist on papers. Experts say that these constructions are traced more in places at Navi Mumbai and in Vashi.
However, CIDCO, NMMC and MIDC agencies agreed that those lands belonged to them but for now they claim that their lands have been encroached upon by the local land mafia.
