Central Pollution Control Board to recycle Energy-efficient Lamps
Days are faded where denizen used normal lighting bulbs, now its the era of compact fluorescent lamp (CFL). India consumes a few hundred million Energy-efficient compact fluorescent lamps and these are planned to be pushed for recycling as the usage of them in India is increasing rapidly. Central Pollution Control Board has witnessed that every year nearly 304 million bulbs are being manufactured and being dumped at the same rate. As these bulbs are not re-usable, henceforth there is a immediate demand to be recycled as its giving a helping hand in increasing pollution.
The waste management committee in all the cities are finding tough time segregating these dumped bulbs. The appreciable work upheld by the Indian government is that, long back in the year 2008 it had declared “Guidelines for Environmentally Sound Mercury Management for Fluorescent Lamp Sector”. The emission of gases from such dumped bulbs are adding on to the air pollution which is intern resulting in the residents suffering from major health diseases. The state government has decided to uphold a clean and neat city drive for the welfare of the residents and the whole country as well.
