1 Comment Sub Category:Chennai,Cities,Realty News Posted On: Dec 31, 2012

Chennai- Soon new terminals will be added to Chennai airport. With new terminals, the handling capacity of the airport will increase to 140 lakh passengers per year.

After a long delay, Authority of India (AAI) has looked for a date for the formal inauguration by the Prime Minister. There is no notification of date to open terminals for public, however the inauguration is expected to be held either on January 12 or 15.

The work of these terminals at Chennai Airport started in August 2008 but somehow it got delayed due to lack of adequate facilities for passengers. These new terminals are yet not equipped with amenities like food and beverage counters, lounges etc.

To grab the attention of top brands, tenders have been opened which will be finalised by end of January 2013. These facilities will be installed in a course of two months. The remaining facilities will be installed afterwards in a systematic manner such that people can use the building.
