Chennai Residents stand in Knee-deep water in front of their Houses

The residents in Perambur, Chennai finds no remedy for the stagnant water in their residence. The residents have ended up standing in a knee-deep water that has been stagnant in their houses. One of the residents reported saying that some of the places have sewage mixed with rainwater that overflows from all the drainage channels and enters the water sumps.

Paper Mill Road is flooded with sewage, near Gandhi statue. People’s representatives seemed to have never been aware of these issues. The civic body claims to be striving hard to transform the Chennai city into ‘Clean City’, especially Perambur. Perambur has been facing serious issues of frequent overflow of sewage. Also residents are surviving in the pot-holed roads and suffering congestion since several decades. However the residents of Perambur seem to be facing never ending woes.
