CIDCO Navi Mumbai Demolition Drive Continues

Comments(2) Sub Category:Uncategorized Posted On: Aug 23, 2011

The anti- encroachment department of City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) undertook a demolition drive at Sector 28 of Nerul, and razed down illegal structures there. One G+4 under construction building that had encroached on the land reserved for a garden at sector 28 on the foothills of Balaji temple was demolished on July 26. CIDCO had given permission to the temple trust to plant trees on this plot; however illegal chawls and multi -storeyed buildings came up over the time.

The authorities demolished these structures after giving them a notice well in advance. The demolition drive continued for two days and ensured that the near by buildings are not affected. The drive was carried out under the supervision of Shivaji Jondale, the Additional Collector and Chief Controller of Unauthorised Construction, Subhash Gosavi, Controller of Unauthorised Constructions, R M Kudale, Assistant Controller of Unauthorised Construction for CIDCO along with various other officials and police personnels.

With several illegal structures coming up in Navi Mumbai, the Controller for Unauthorised Construction (CUC) department of the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has time and again launched drives to raze down such structures.

Says Jondale, “We had given a prior notice to three builders against the illegal constructions; however, they paid no heed to our notices. So we eventually razed the structures.” Jondale further adds, “No one had taken a possession in any of the flats in this building. Illegal construction is a huge problem, and this is not the first time that CIDCO has razed down a structure. In fact from April to July, we took six such drives to bring down a huge number of structures in areas like Kalamboli, Kamothe, Kharghar, Belapur, Nerul and Palm Beach Road.

    Respected Sir,

We have all lived in this Navi Mumbai city for long enough to judge the functioning of each and every node and how they run according to the dictat of some one who is on the higher up. Either CIDCO’S ot the local goon or the MLA’s who throw their weight arround to organise many illegal activity of which even the Navi Mumbai Police are helpless about and co-operate with them to give them all adequate security. Then where will the common man approach when he is treathned with someone taking over and disrupting their day to day from home office and back home routine and his liesure walk on the reserved footpaths for pedestrians.. When we move out of our homes we first encounter that the footpaths are so full of encroachments with all types of stalls , stores and road side vendors who are doing brisk business. But, wait a bit at whose behest are these illegal stalls, shops, and road side vendors carrying on , its obviously some big hand in CIDCO’S, or the local goons or the MLA’s who are hand in glove with all this activity. For example the “Wednesday Bazar” of Khanda Colony sector-9 is a famous episode to highlight the major functionaries who themselves are minting money on their vested interest. Leave alone that and take a quick walk intering Khanda Colony from the Sion-Panvel highway and you will notice all the pedestrians entering there walk on the main road with speeding vehicular traffice to dodge from. Secondly the entire market place is full of encroachments that it becomes difficult for the elders to walk leave alone senior citizens and small school going children. All this is going on and on without much oppoition or even someone getting up from the CIDCO’s Authorities and those we have appointed to safe guard and protect our entire society the MLA’s ministry level authorities. We all now feel helpless and fustrated that no one is taking up this initiative to clear this Khanda Colony of all these illegal incroachments and free the entire footpats and all the possible nodes of these illegal structures. If CIDCO’s is listening and reading this in print media article please do something to this Khanda Colony encroachment before it becomes another Dharavi of Mumbai which now even the Government can’t shift. So please take this in the right spirits and concern about the well being and comfort level of all Khanda Colony residence and give them their due peace of mind and footpats to walk upon rather than the main road.

    Thanking you,
    Yours truly,
    Fabian Edward Misquitta

    Respected Sir,

It has been observed that ever since this new Bazar opened since past few months back its gradually becoming a nuisance to one and all and the people arround are feeling the crunch of being tied down in theirmovements and daily activities of going in and out of their respective bulidings arround the “WEDNESDAY BAZAR”.

Ever since this open “Wednesday Bazar” has begun and taken root its becoming a realy nuisance to one and all, although some down trodden folks enjoy the same because of ulterier motives and vested interest , the others franky and openly are opposed to it. The simple reason is that firstand foremost its “ILLEGAL” and its basically the ideology of some political big wig who just wants to extract money from these wholesalers who sell their ware in this market. Secondly there is no law and order as they simply block the complete road every wednesday and make life difficult to all those residence staying in buildings opposite this bazar. Thirdly it is also a danger for “Pickpocketer, child lifters and miscreants who can easily oprate in this scenario without the police presence. Finally if this so called “WEDNESDAY BAZAR” was ligal than the CIDCO’S and the concerned authorities would come and drop in to oversee the function and law and order and possibly put things in place. Who is the sole earner and who is the sufferer in this market scenerio, we the common folks who out of curiosity happen to patronise this “Wednesday Bazr”and make it grow and florish every wednesday.

Hence please can the concerned authorities please drop in to see what exactly is happening under their nose without their prior permissin or is it the other way arround, that there is vested interest hidden in the transactions. All the same what ever be the reason the best thing is to put everything to rest in peace which is illegal and or allot a specific place for such markets to spring up with all proper allocations. Please can you the authorities get up or stop pretending that everything is happening without you knowledge and keep the entire strech of road clean and clear other wise its a peice of grbage strewn all over the new day : thursday the next day of this so called “WEDNESDAY BAZAR”

    Thanking you,

    Yours truly,
