Gurgaon Green belts fast depleting
The parks that are the only ray of hope for Residents of Gurgaon have fallen prey to government apathy. Among them is Tau Devi Lal Park. Once the park was one of the good place for people to gather every evening to hang. Now the area around them has turned into a garbage dump. Residents raise concern over poor Park upkeep.
“Tall buildings alone do not make any city; parks, green belt areas, good roads and connectivity equally contribute,” Sunil Yadav, vice president of the Palam Vihar resident Welfare Association said.
“We have stopped going to this park. We had approached the authorities many times but they have refused to do anything about it. In the past six years, I have not seen any park being upgraded or being well maintained by government.” he added.
However, AK Mageu, executive engineer with the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) begged to differ. “People do not have water to drink. How can we provide water to run fountains. I think that residents should understand,” he said.
