Dal lake may die soon!
The Jammu and Kashmir’s Dal Lake is in a threat being polluted with the dumped untreated sewage and fertilizers.
This lake is one of the world’s largest freshwater lakes and very soon this lake will turn into a dirty pond.
According to the recent survey, government has learnt that the lake bed is covered with 80 per cent of the untreated sewage.
Therefore immediate measures are to be taken as the silt deposit in the lake has increased to 22,000 tonnes.
However, CAG blames J&K Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) and ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) for this cause.
