The announcement for the lucky draw of Delhi Development Authority Housing Scheme 2014 has already been postponed a number of times but was finally decided on Tuesday, deciding the fate of over 10 lakhs applicants.

The process of draw which was to be conducted online started at around 11.30 am and completed in a span of less than two hours. An official spokesperson from the DDA, Nemo Dhar reported that the randomisation of data would begin around 9 am, which would itself take around two hours followed by which the draw was to take place from around 11.30 am and last for approximately one hour forty five minutes.

The live webcasting of the drawing of lots was telecasted live for people for which they would have to log on to www.ddadrawlive.in. It was to begin at the randomisation stage of the process.

Initial announcements:

The DDA is reported to have received an overwhelming response this year making it necessary to meet increased user traffic as the website is reported to have crashed during its launch in September.

The DDA was supposed to conduct its draw originally on the 5th of November which later got postponed to November 17th. In the last minute however, the agency put off its announcement yet again, citing reasons of technical glitches that were detected during the trial runs. A mock trial was held on 17th November in Vikas Sadan in the presence of Hon’ble Judges and Senior Officers belonging to the DDA.

Plans for webcasting the draw live required special upgrading and technical testing to ensure that online users could check proceedings live through the YouTube Channel.

What the scheme offers:

The flagship DDA housing scheme offers over 25,000 flats across various categories in different price ranges that vary from Rs.7 lakhs to Rs.1.2 crore and under the name of EWS, LIG, MIG, HIG, Janta Flats and one-room apartments. One of the most attractive features of the DDA housing scheme on offer this year were the 22,627 one-bedroom apartments. There were over 10 lakhs applicants for the one roomed apartments. The application for this housing scheme closed on October 15th.
