DDA Housing Scheme Draw Announcements Delayed
After facing some last minute technical issues, the DDA decided to postpone the draw for lots of its flagship Housing Scheme 2014 that was scheduled to be conducted on Monday.
The DDA Housing Scheme draw of lots which was to be announced on Monday faced last minute technical hitches cancelling its announcement. The housing body had been holding several mock trials before the D-day at its headquarters Vikas Sadan. As of now, no new date has been announced. It was scheduled to be held at the Conference Hall of the DDA Headquarters at 11.30 am.
What’s on offer: The flagship Housing Scheme 2014 by the DDA has over 25 thousand flats on offer under the schemes of EWS, LIG, MIG, HIG, Janta Flats and one-room apartments.
One of the most attractive features of the offer this year were the 22,627 one-bedroom apartments for the people for which the DDA is estimated to have received over 10 lakh applicants. The flats on offer range from an estimated price of Rs.7 lakh to Rs.1.2 crore. The scheme had been launched on the 1st of September with closing date extended from October 9th to October 15th.
Past Draws: the C-DAC (Centre for Development and Advanced Computing) had previously conducted the draw for DDA’s last housing scheme in 2010. The same had been called upon for this year’s draw.
The Mock trial was held on 17th November in Vikas Sadan in the presence of Hon’ble Judges and Senior Officers belonging to the DDA. Owing the large number of applicants for the draw, the mock trial itself took over 8-9 hours for completion, each under multiple categories of flats with multiple preferences for location adding to 34 and multiple reservations in the category of SC, ST, Persons with Disability, Ex-servicemen and War Widow. The Delhi Development Authority has not announced any new postponed date but will be announcing those soon citing reasons of processing and optimisation of data of applicants.
Plans for webcasting the draw live required special upgrading and technical testing to ensure that online users could check proceedings live through the YouTube Channel. A link would be provided to users.
