1 Comment Sub Category:Uncategorized Posted On: Apr 21, 2011

The land agency clarified that it was coincidence that all five members are from Jain families and their father’s name is also the same. But they do not belong to the same family.

With BJP alleging that five members of a family were allotted flats under the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) housing scheme 2010, the land agency, on Wednesday, clarified that it was coincidence that all five members are from Jain families and their father’s name is also the same.

Delhi BJP president, Vijender Gupta, on Tuesday, had alleged that the applicant Sunil Kumar Jain, who had been declared successful in the draw of lots along with his four sons Sameer Jain, Bhanu Jain, Gaurav Jain and Vivek Jain.

“All these applicants have different addresses, PAN numbers etc and do not belong to the same family. DDA has verified the same from these applicants over the phone and it has been confirmed that they do not belong to the same family. It is just coincidence that all five members are from Jain family and their father’s name is also the same.” said DDA spokesperson Neemo Dha.

Meanwhile, to deal with complaints of successful allottees being approached by property dealers outside the flat complexes–that have been allotted under the scheme–DDA is planning to show allottees only a sample DDA flat in each of the complexes.

“We will identify a sample flat in each complex and the allottees will only be allowed to see the sample flats and not the ones allotted to them to prevent any sort of deal being struck between property dealers and the allottees. We have asked the guards also to keep an eye out for property dealers hanging outside the complex. We might even seek the help of police.” said Dhar.

“Discussions are also underway to keep tabs on those allottees who try and sell their flats within the first year of allotment,” said a source in DDA. “The waiting list of 600 applicants will be valid only for 9 months from the date of issue of demand letters to successful applicants,” said Dhar.
