DDA to lose its housing regulator role soon
Due to the onset of new regulator for housing society in Delhi, Delhi Development Authority (DDA) could lose its role.
The central finance ministry has plans of introducing a new regulator instead of DDA to check housing sector in the city.
The ministry is likely to face some resistance from the local authority as the later had prepared the 2021 Master Plan for Delhi that had plans of 202 square kilometres of development.
Finance ministry has recently hold a meeting with DDA officials along with home ministry and the ministry of housing and urban poverty to deprive DDA of its prime role.
