Delhi Metro first to get Carbon Credits from United States

The Metro Railways in Delhi has claimed to be the first to earn Rs. 47 crore Carbon Credit points which has come forward in reduction of greenhouse emission. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has helped in reduction of emission of harmful gases in the atmosphere. DMRC spokesperson reported saying that the increase in number of passengers will intern increase the figure of carbon credit points and also every individual of the society whoever chooses to travel in this Metro Railways instead of commuting in their private vehicles would contribute in the reduction of emission of approximately 100mg for every 10 kms.

United Nation’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) has certified Delhi Metro in contributing for pollution free city. This has been a huge success only because of more population using the Delhi Metro services. The pollution level has been reduced nearly by 6.3 lakh tonnes every year and till date nearly 18lakh population is traveling in metro railways which has resulted in complete non-polluting and environment friendly capital of India. The DMRC has traced a figure of statistics, that nearly 91 thousand vehicles has been removed since the construction of Delhi Metro Railways.
