Demolition in the favour of Builder in Pune
Sundew Apartments on Prabhat Road in Pune will be pulled down by the civic authorities. The building was built some thirteen years back and is expected to worth over Rs. 50 crore. However in an RTI filed it came out that the school was erected on land that was reserved for school in 1999. The building had been a bone of contention from a long time since 1999 and was one of the reasons Manohar Joshi to step down as CM.
However the move is not likely to cost any significant damages to the builder Vyas Construction. Infact it will benefit the company’s owner Girish Vyas, son-in-law of former Chief Minister Manohar Joshi, a significant amount of TDRs or Transfer Development Rights. The decision will also save Vyas a considerable amount of sum as the land has been handed over to the civic authorities. The ordinance will see to it that Vyas gets his TDR and also saves the demolition money too.
