Durga Puja Is The Time For Authentic Bengali Dishes

When we say Durga Puja first thing comes to our mind is goddess durga and Bengali culture as Durga Puja is the biggest festival in Bengal. But for the residents in T Nagar, Durga puja is the time for authentic Bengali dishes. Among the many Bengali associations in Chennai, the South Madras Cultural Association and the Bengal Association have gone that extra mile to have a grand feast and draw in the crowds.

South Madras Cultural Association in Indira Nagar has brought in cooks from Bengal to make the festival memorable for the entire community.The 12 food stalls at the South Madras Cultural Association will offer vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Starting with luchi and aloo dum for breakfast, the stalls will be dishing up food till past midnight.

The members of both associations say they have received an overwhelming response from the city every year during the puja.

Anjan Chakraborty, president, Bengal Association, T Nagar, is quite satisfied with the menu this year and the cooks are loving every moment of puja in Chennai as the cook feels appreciated when people enjoy what he has cooked.

The crowd at the Bengal Association in T Nagar are happy as they get blessing from Goddess Durga and authentic Bengali dishes which make the festival a memorable.
