Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP) dreams of self-sufficient in dealing with its own garbage in individual houses henceforth KSSP is now coming out with a new package and a unit that can treat all kitchen waste produced and that is converted into biogas which can be used for cooking instead of Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The biogas plant was first developed at the Integrated rural technology centre (IRTC) and the research and training centre of KSSP has designed it in a well versed way.

VG Gopinathan the registrar officer at IRTC reported saying that nearly three or four kilograms of kitchen wastes can be deposited with water in the plant this helps generation of biogas which can be used for nearly two hours every day. KSSP will be taking care of installation and will be demonstrating the same to the buyers. Meanwhile the residue collected from the plant is said to work as a bio-manure. After implementing this plan, Kochi is said to get transformed into a green city and also the residents are contended with Eco drive step taken up by the government.
