Forest land converted into park
Chandigarh- Government has decided to convert a part of forest in Zirakpur into a park.
This effort will definitely bring smile to 1500 people residing in 11 societies, who can use that park. Unfortunately due to lack of area, forest department cannot create a park for societies on the Peer Muchalla road of Zirakpur.
Since entire open space is being covered with soil there is no place left to play and jog in the society. Due to this reason, residents demanded to convert small portion of forest land into park. Thus, a part (1 km) of hundreds of acre of vacant forest land near Peer Muchalla will be converted into park.
Forest minister of Punjab, Surjit Kumar Jyani also supports this conversion as many residents demanded for this.
Commonfloor feels that such efforts by government will benefit the residents increasing trust in them.
