Residents opposed the Demolition Drive in Chandigarh

The residents in Chandigarh during the demolition drive, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) slapped innocent people and used derogatory language against a particular community. 22 illegal structures including unauthorized outer part of a mosque was demolished in a demolition drive. The residents protested against the SDM Parshuram Kavle during the demolition drive.
A delegation of Chandigarh Congress Committee met the UT Administrator, KK Sharma and demanded immediate suspension of SDM and also an FIR against him was filed.
The SDM residents buildings were not spared and the administration recommended their explanation under Clause 48 of the Land Acquisition Act.
