Fresh actions against encroachers in Chandigarh
The Chandigarh municipal corporation has started a campaign against encroachments. In the latest incident the civic body towed away many vehicles that were parked for repair in front of the motor markets. The parking were generally done in front of the shops thus narrowing the roads, which causes a lot of problems to commuters and passers by. The make shift parking spaces created by the shops do not actually belong to the shopkeepers and are unauthorized and illegal.
Residents have often complained against these encroachers. The corporation towed away some twenty five vehicles, which included cars, bikes and trucks. The raids were carried out inĀ sectors 7, 21, 28 and Manimajra. Two cranes were used by the corporation for the purpose.
