Garden allocated on NIBM-Undri Road by PMC Pune
Citizens living on NIBM-Undri Road did not have a garden previously; in absence of a walking path, they had to walk down the main road. This garden after being built would actually be dedicated to senior citizens, where they would have a dedicated place for them to sit and relax. Many have been complaining about the lack of gardens in this part of Kondhwa.
An amount of Rs 5 lakh has been recently sanctioned for garden space allocated on NIBM-Undri Road near Konark Indrayu Enclave by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). Revealing further details, Tanaji Lonkar, local corporator, said, “The initiative is designed to be one of the most prestigious projects for local residents.
“The total funds allocated for the garden now amount to Rs 15 lakh now with the recent addition of Rs 5 lakh,” concluded Lonkar. Sushil Kumar, secretary, NRRF, said, “NRRF has been asking Tanaji Lonkar to throw open the garden at the earliest with the amenities that are ready. With the additional budget, we hope the garden opened soon.”
D T Gawli, garden department, PMC said, “The budget is allocated for setting up a pagoda, benches for senior citizens, a jogging track, lawn, playing equipment for children, etc., at the gardens.”
G S Mani, resident of Konark Indrayu, said, “If PMC has sanctioned funds for the garden, the amenities should come at the earliest. We do not have a garden in this area of PMC. We are looking forward to having a garden in the vicinity for children and senior citizens.” “We have been following up issues from Kondhwa; building a garden has always been the top priority,” Mani added.
