GIS based system for assessing property tax in Chennai soon

Chennai Corporation in a step to minimize the property tax assessment and collection procedure has come up with a new idea.
The authority is soon going to launch a GIS based survey system for property tax.
Soon, the corporation has plans of calling for tenders for property surveys in Adyar zone having 13 wards.
About one lakh properties have to be assessed within three months.
If this survey succeeds, then it will be implemented in all the fifteen zones.
