Goa yet to support Green Buildings

Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has created awareness towards establishment of the Green Buildings all over the city in Goa. The government has already taken up the initiative on the concept of “Green Housing” . However the architects and the industry builders kept a proposal to the state government saying that, the government has to work faster in terms of encouraging the Green Housing. The architect Tulio de Souza, member, Council of Architecture, New Delhi, and former chairman, Indian Institute of Architects reported saying that the Panaji state government has to promote this concept in order to bring in all round development in the city and also to provide incentives which will be directly applicable to the government agencies.

President of IGBC, Goa, Amar Britto also reported saying that Green Buildings promotes environmental concerns and a positive and economic benefits can be implemented only if the government and the industry work together. A day long conference is to be held at Goa on regard of the “Green Building Housing Concept”  and this conference will be organized by the Indian industry and IGBC at BITS-Pilani, Zuarinagar. The state government is now ahead to get the certificate from the concerned authorities to start Green Housing all over the city in Goa.
