Gurgaon fire department declares 76 high rise defaulters
Fire service department in Gurgaon has declared 76 high rise societies as defaulter.
These high rises were taken as violating safety norms.
Around 15 high rises will be penalize soon and they are located in sectors 9-A, 10-A, 45 and 56.
The violations include not having a mandatory license or not renewing the same on various occasions.
As per section 19 of the Haryana fire Safety Act 2009, any high rise above 15 metre have to have a license for one year from the department. But the residents’ welfare association (RWA) of Haryana Apartment allege that their apartment has only four floors and not fifteen.
The punishment is a fine of Rs 5000 or jail for three months or both can be given to the defaulter but the final penalty has to decided by the court.
