Ignoring High Court’s orders, Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has not destroyed the encroachment at Asaram’s ashram. The report submitted on 27 January, says that that the school premises, hostel and a hall are constructed illegally on public land.

A senior official of JDA, says, “Recently, the ashram authority had written a letter to JDA asking them not to demolish the construction and saying that a same size of land will be provided by the ashram at a different location. Till date, the JDA has not apprised state government about the development in the matter.” The source further added, “It seems JDA is giving the ashram authorities time to approach the court again.”

The high court had directed the settlement department on November 28, to measure the land and then destroy the Ashram’s construction if it is encroaching public land. The HC gave 15 days to the department, but no action has been taken till today.

In Bhilwara, the administration recently destroyed the encroachment done by Asaram and some others located in five more places including Pali Sumerpur, Kota, Bharatpur, Pushkar and Jodhpur are under scrutiny. It says, that Asaram have minimum 10 properties at various places of state.
