Heritage structures to get boost
The heritage of Pune will be managed more professionally and will be restored as the Unesco-led Indian Heritage Cities Network (IHCN) and civic body has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Sustainable socio-economic and cultural development of historic cities of India is taken care by the IHCN, who shares their experience .The Pune Municipal Corporation signed the deal with IHCN and they hope that the joint venture will help to restore the heritage structures.
Pune possesses historic value together with several structures of fantastic relevance. A seminar has been organised jointly by he PMC, IHCN, French embassy for two days.
The topics that will be discussed in the seminar includes monuments, sites, landscapes, museums: Good practices of management of an individual heritage institution, Heritage economics studies: Where do we stand? In India and abroad?, Heritage for development: broader impact of heritage assets, brands, image and territorial development and Financial mechanism: Integrated heritage-based development.
The IHCN will supply guidelines on how to preserve the heritage and also adaptable restoration of structures. After the MoU, Pune will also be a part of this organisation. For the promotion of Pune heritage, joint programmes will be organised.
