High Court questions DDA to take call on Kathputli ‘residents’
The HC clears the path for the relocation of the Kathputli Colony by rejecting the petition against the resettlement plan. Justice Hima Kohli questioned the petitioners who are claiming to be the residents of the Kathputli Colony to go to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) for the injustice and told the land-owning agency to take the decision within a month.
HC also take care of the views of DDA by its standing counsel Rajiv Bansal, who suggested that the force is not used against the residents while resettling them. DDA told the HC that if the people are claiming to be residents of the colony they should show the proof of it.
Justice Kohli says that the residents who are left out in the observation should file a complaint against DDA so they can be noticed for the allotment of new flat at new place.
The other topic raised by the residents was that their profession like puppetry has unique requirements. The HC then suggested the DDA to take care of suggestions given by the petitioners and include them in the process of redevelopment.
In the complaint the residents are opposing the project because they want the plots at the same location.
