Highway widening happening since year 2008 in Chennai!
The demolition of structures at Tiruvottiyur High Road in Chennai has just commenced!
The city Highways Department took initiative of demolishing the buildings which were raised on the land allotted for widening the Tiruvottiyur High Road.
The road department has estimated 10,770.4 sq m of lands to upgrade the road.
The road widening work has been happening since 2008 and due to these land acquisitions, work has been kept pending.
However, the officials claim that they have paid 60 percent compensation of amount estimating around Rs.15 crore to the land owners and the remaining amount has been told to get cleared at the earliest!
