Houses to be constructed with two-metre space each
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has passed on a mandatory rule to construct the houses leaving two-metre space from the adjacent buildings to it.
The recent incident wherein the digging of basement lead to collapse of the adjacent building provoked MCD to pass this mandatory norm.
Especially the residential sectors which are generally constructed next to each other are sure to face this threat any day. In future any similar constructions should follow the rules passed by MCD.
However, MCD has to take initiative of alternate plans for the buildings which are already constructed.
Even though “The Master Plan of Delhi-2021” approves wall to wall digging, the property owners are not taking necessary precautions therefore a mandatory norm has been implemented and the developers and builders are warned to follow them strictly to avoid penalty and threat to their life in future.
