Housing regulatory bill will be tabled in Maharashtra assembly
The government of Maharashtra decided to table the housing regulatory bill in the running assembly session.
The assembly will discuss the bill but the passing of the bull is not yet confirmed.
The builders are claiming to remove the direct jail terms in the proposed bill. The union ministry has refused to remove the provision.
The ministry has amended the proposal by reducing the penalty clause into a punitive fine of Rs.1000 to Rs.1 crore.
The bill proposes to set up a housing regulatory authority and a tribunal to protect Public Interest and monitor the conduct and integrity.
